The Delta virus is a new strain of the COVID-19. It first originated in India and it now is all around the world and some people even say that the vaccination isn’t stopping this new variant. The Delta virus has been affecting people similarly to COVID-19 and the symptoms are exactly the same. Runny nose, backaches and body aches, coughing, fevers, headaches, loss of smell and taste, sore throats, nausea/vomiting, and diarrhea are some of the symptoms that are exhibited in the new strain. Some places on the news say the delta virus has some other variant parts to it like Delta plus and other parts of the virus, making it multiply to create a bigger problem today. So, with it multiplying and affecting people it is hard to completely go back to normal.
The Delta virus started around October 2020, and was identified during that time as it just continued to spread into India and eventually around the world. Most Likely, the Delta is two times more infectious than COVID-19 and not much can stop it but the vaccine is the best protection. On the website Health.ucdavis.edu it is shown how it is “affecting 97% of the people that don’t have the vaccine” and that “most either have no symptoms or have very mild symptoms, and it rarely results in hospitalization or death.”
In conclusion, the Delta virus is spreading rapidly and the facts about it can be very scary when it comes to one’s vaccination status. The pandemic is still not over, and we still need to wear masks and wash our hands constantly. Stay safe and continue to wear your mask for your safety. Also wash your hands and use hand sanitizer when you get the chance everyone!
