The Coronado Football team has opened its season with a bang, scoring 134 points across its first three games of the 2025-2026 season.
On August 29, the Cougars dominated Palmer with a 41-3 victory at Garry Berry Stadium. A week later, they battled Lewis-Palmer in a thriller, falling just short and losing 39-42. On September 12, Quarterback Thomas Buckmiller threw for 558 yards and 8 touchdowns on 71.4% completion, but lost again by a score of 54-61. Despite their 1-2 start, the Cougars have flashed a lethal offense that can put up points quickly.
According to Buckmiller, the national leader in passing yards per game, “The team has had the mentality of Coronado Football vs. the world. Everyone has worked very hard to give their all for the success of the team.” Running back Jayson Beaudin added, “The strongest aspect of our team is our communication and inspiration to improve every day, especially since we have been talked down on as a program and a football team.”
An explosive aerial attack, a feisty defense, and passionate players have helped Coronado find success early. With this strong momentum, the Cougars look to continue their offensive success next game against Pueblo Centennial on September 18 and turn it into long-term results this season.
