Coronado’s new welding teacher, Charles Covington, is working on installing new equipment in the welding room. New additions will include eight new welding stations.
As of now, Mr. Covington doesn’t know when construction will begin, and whether or not they will be doing it at night or during the school day. The construction will give many future students a chance at following a welding career.
The welding shop has not been revamped since the school was originally built. These new construction additions would make the shop cleaner, easier to move around, and provide a chance for students to continue their education in welding.
Our Principal, Mrs. Arnell, says that she “leaves all of the decisions to the professionals.” There is currently a bidding war going on between the different construction companies that are willing to take the job. Once one is chosen, construction will begin, and we will say goodbye to our old welding room.
