Coronado High School throws an annual Homecoming parade each year to help build the community around the school. Coronado’s Sports teams and clubs, as well as local businesses, participate in the school’s parade, complete with marching bands, floats, and the cheer team.
The parade is taking place on Saturday morning, October 11, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and lasting about an hour. The route goes down Colorado Avenue between 23rd and 30th Streets in Colorado Springs, ending in Bancroft Park for a pep rally.
The homecoming parade is a long-standing tradition meant to boost school spirit, bring the community together, and celebrate homecoming for the school. It also gives various clubs and sports an opportunity to advertise what they are going to do or are doing.
Student Council organizes the event, coordinating where everyone goes and making sure it runs smoothly. The homecoming parade is a wonderful event to attend with friends and family, serving as a fun way to wrap up homecoming week.
