10:58 am – In the first round Boehlke takes on Fairview at Gates Tennis Center in Denver. This clear, chilly morning started off the match. Since then it has been warming up consistently. Boehkle fought hard in the first set, but dropped it 1-6.

11:25 am – The second set fell to Fairview, 0-6, but the score by no means does the match justice. Boehlke played with an energy all players would envy. Coach Philipsen, the team’s new coach this year, thought, “James had a really tough opponent; we knew that coming in, but overall he hung in every point with some good rallies and took him to deuce a lot”. Now Boehlke and crew wait for the results of further rounds to hear about his playback matches.
