Coaching Profile: Don Lash
October 16, 2015
Coach Don Lash of Coronado volleyball started coaching volleyball at Aguilar High School in southern Colorado in 1976 and coached there for one year before moving to Elizabeth High School. There, he coached volleyball for 11 years in addition to coaching basketball and track. Lash coached at Lewis-Palmer for 18 years, Pikes Peak Christian for 1 year and Harrison for 1 year before coming to Coronado. This is his 5th year coaching for Coronado. He’s coached two State Championships and two second place finishes. All this considered, Lash has coached volleyball for 37 years. Through this, he is able to fund his trips to Ecuador, where he visits four children he and his wife sponsor through Compassion International. Other than coaching, Lash has taught high school for 27 years – mostly math, but also history and science. This year, Coronado volleyball has an amazing 11-4 record, the best in the 5A CSML.
Lash says, “I coach because I love the game of volleyball, and I enjoy watching these young ladies become stronger athletes and better teammates.”

I am a Lewis-Palmer volleyball parent, but wanted to send my sincerest best wishes to Coach Lash and the Lady Cougars for the upcoming State Tournament. I was very impressed with them when we played each other earlier this season – really liked your libero – she is legit! You knocked off #2, might as well take down #1. Good luck!
