Mr. Muth: An Impassioned Intellect
December 4, 2015
Mr. Muth has been teaching Biology at Coronado for 13 years. He began his interest in teaching as a career long before entering the D11 school system;“What lead me to teaching was when I started teaching at UCCS and Pikes Peak Community as a graduate student.”
Mr. Muth’s personality and style can be described by many as a relatable yet involved teacher,“Mr. Muth has a way of making the class engaging; he’s so passionate and entertaining. He always takes time to help his students” said Connie Sun, grade 9.
According to Mr. Muth his greatest achievement was, “winning the Diamond Award. It was kinda cool, especially since the students voted.” The goodwill and opinion of his students is valuable to him, “What I enjoy most about teaching is when kids come back and thank me for teaching them when they grow older and are in college.”
Despite Mr. Muth’s expertise in teaching, his students have also taught him a valuable lesson,“My students have definitely taught me patience.”
style=”font-weight: 400″> Advice that he would give to the students of Coronado and his past self is “My advice I would like to give is to work hard now so you don’t work hard later. Good work ethic pays off.” For someone who teaches AP, that is key concept to many of his students’ daily lives. Not only does Mr. Muth have a very successful career but also a prosperous development as a teacher and his involvement with his students.
