Mock Trial Qualifies for State

Maddy Marcy, Co-Editor in Chief

On the 5th and 6th of this month, JV and Varsity Mock Trial competed in Regionals to place, and try and move on to state. Varsity competed for three difficult rounds and ended up in the top two, which automatically qualifies them for State which will be on April 8th and 9th. JV competed as well, missing the cutoff for State by only a few points, but still earning 7th out of 15 teams which, for a group of mostly new members and freshmen, is quite a feat. Yesterday, Varsity Prosecution competed with Palmer and took second place, and they will compete again with Palmer in late April. Mady Lester, 12, on varsity and Noah Durrance, 9, on JV won awards as well, for Best Attorney and Best Witness, respectively.

“This is my second year participating in Mock Trial, it is always an enjoyable experience and I am so proud of my team for making it to state again. We will try our hardest to give all of the seniors an amazing final year on the team, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store,” said Emma Longwell, 12.
