The Harry Potter fanbase was excited at the news of a new movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and then more excited when Rowling announced the play, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”. But now, fans who may not be able to see the play in London at the time of its performance may read the script, coming out the day after. Due to be released on July 31st, 2016, the script is anticipated by fans all around the world.

The actors playing the lead roles are Jamie Parker as Harry Potter, Paul Thornley as Ron Weasley, and Norma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger. Many other actors have been announced, but no roles have gone with their names as of yet. However, fans have begun to speculate. Many people believe that Jack North or Tom Milligan will be cast as James Sirius Potter, Bili Keogh may be Albus Severus, and Cristina Fray and Zoe Brough may be double cast as Lily Luna Potter. Other possible roles are Poppy Miller as Ginny Weasley Potter, James La Lacheur as a possible Teddy Lupin, and Cherrelle Skeete as Rose Weasley.

The plot of the sequel is not defined as of yet, but fans can be sure that it will still follow Harry, now working as an Auror for the Ministry of Magic, and his son Albus Severus. It takes place nineteen years after Harry and the rest of the main characters from the original books graduated from Hogwarts.

Not only is the script being debuted as a book, but digital copies of the play’s preview performances are also being released, so that fans can see the cast in character. In 2017, a final script that is identical to the end result of the play will be released in various collectors editions, such as ones specific to the Hogwarts houses.

Overall, people are very excited for the release of the story and the play, and are looking forward to the future of Harry Potter books.
