Allie Garcia and Madi Eurich Qualify for 5A State Golf
May 11, 2016
Following a strong showing at Colorado 5A Northern Regionals in Fort Collins, Coronado, women’s golfers Allie Garcia, 12, and Madi Eurich, 10, qualified for the Colorado State 5A Golf Tournament. Under head coach and Coronado English teacher Ms. Hodge, the golfers placed 9th and 10th of the 50 individuals competing at the tournament. Ms. Hodge reflected, “The regional course played really long but they both got off the tee very well which enabled them to shoot well,” and that both golfers had a “good chance” of placing at state.
Eurich, also a Coronado basketball player, recollects, “It was a lot of pressure going into regionals, but I’m proud of the outcome and I’m excited to make it to state two years in a row.”
Garcia, a Columbia College volleyball commit, said, “It wasn’t easy this year, the field was competitive, but I’m thankful to be going to state one last time.” Both golfers will head to state at Denver Common Ground Golf Course on May 23 and 24.
Great job and good luck at state Cougars!
