End to the Baseball Season

Spring sports are coming up almost as quickly this fast pitch

Boys’ baseball wrapped up the end of the season with another loss against Fountain Fort Carson. They started off the season fairly strong, with four wins by the first week of April. After that, however, they fell into a losing streak, not winning another game for the rest of the season. A good learning experience, but not the best season for the Cougars.

“I think we worked really well together, but still need to work on communicating with each other” said Joey Callan, 11.

Despite the record, there was still some outstanding performances. Patrick Skur, 12, had an amazing average of .435, Luke Zahlmann, 12, played every game and had a fielding percentage of .944, and Alex Bumpass, 11, played every game and stole 10/12 bases.

Even though this season was not the best in the cougars’ history, it can be thought of as a building season.
