Every year, the Veterans of Foreign Wars give away more than $2 million in educational scholarships through the Voice of Democracy (VOD) program. The winner with the best speech is awarded a $30,000 scholarship as well as the honor that the title brings.

This year’s theme is “My Responsibility to America”. Students should record their reading of the draft to an audio CD or flash drive. The recording can be no shorter than three minutes and no longer than five minutes. Content will be judged by its originality, content, and delivery.
