Change.org is the fastest growing social change platform in the world, empowering more than 100 million people to create change in their communities. The website allows you petition and campaign for the cause you have started or support. So far more than 196 countries are creating change in their communities, and over 100,000 organizations are promoting their causes and connecting with new supporters.

“I started this journey because I had little way of translating my passion for a cause into effective action, and I hope we can deepen engagement in social issues and empower people to make a difference in their communities and the world around them,” said Ben Rattray Founder and CEO in his profile.

Change.org is obviously centered on making a difference- 160,961,207 people taking action to affect change. The website allows major improvements to take place in small communities, and even entire cities. The people involved in running Change.org work with “decision makers” to find positive solutions to negative issues around the world.

“We take fun seriously, we embrace openness, we serve with passion, we offer solutions, we demand excellence, and we think big. We are building something no company has created before – a world-class team of technologists and creatives alongside the most accomplished team of social change agents in the world,” said the Change.org staff.

There are hundreds of petitions you can sigh on the website. One of the most popular causes right now is the “Worldwide Wonderbag” petition.
The objective of the Wonderbag is to convince Walmart and Target to carry Wonderbags so they can contribute to minimizing poverty around the world. A Wonderbag is a powerless slow cooker that continues to cook food once boiled for up to 12 hours without the need for fuel. It requires less firewood to be collected and burned; less time spent cooking over open flames. The Wonderbag eliminates smoke inhalation from wood stove fires, because many women and children around the world can die prematurely due to too much inhalation of smoke, and suffocation. This will also help take the pressure off of women, and allow them to get involved with their communities and families. Join the cause!
