It can be difficult to find fun activities to do with friends and family in the snowy season. No worries! There are plenty of fun winter activities around Colorado Springs that don’t require a lot of planning or cash.

1. Movie Nights: One of the best things to do when the weather turns bad is to spend the night in watching movies. Whether you do this with friends or family, movies can always be a fun way to spend an evening. If you invite friends over, have them bring their favorite treats and movies. If you do this with your family, come together and invent a movie night treat.

2. Go for a Hike: Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some fresh air. Colorado Springs has many places around town to go and enjoy a walk. Bundle up and take an hour or two to wander around Ute Valley Park or Garden of the Gods.

3. Go to a Coffee House: One of the best places to be during cold days is in the warm atmosphere of a small coffee shop. There are several around Colorado Springs such as Coffee Exchange, Colorado Coffee Merchants, and Jives. These places offer a good place to do homework, play games, and enjoy an enriching part of Colorado Culture.

4. Go Ice Skating-: If it’s going to be cold, you might as well embrace it and head out to a skating rink. Sertich Ice Center offers open skate sessions with reasonable prices and skate rentals. This activity isn’t for everyone but is definitely a fun way to spend an afternoon.

5. Go Sledding: This is a great way to take advantage of the freshly fallen snow. This activity is great to do with younger children and adults alike. There are several hills that are fantastic for sledding so if you are itching for something to do, grab a tube, some friends, and find a hill!

6. A final activity that never fails is to spend a day on the ski slopes. Skiing is by far one of the most popular winter activities and it can be fun for anyone interested. While this is a little bit on the pricier side, there are many resorts that offer lift ticket deals. If you can get to one of the less popular areas, this can be even more enjoyable. Ski Granby is a smaller resort near Granby, Colorado that offers night time skiing which can be slightly less expensive. Ski Cooper offers full day adult lift tickets for fifty two dollars and Monarch Mountain has them for eighty four. Many mountains also offer beginner classes if you haven’t been skiing before.

No matter how you choose to spend your winter months, these are just a few of the many options. Get creative and enjoy the Colorado winter!
