The SAT is Right Around the Corner, Time to Get Ready!

Isaac Ross, Staff Writer

Juniors! On April 11th Coronado will administer the SAT, a national standardized test which will be imperative for college admittance and scholarship eligibility. 2017 is the first year the SAT is being given statewide over the ACT, with the transition beginning last year for this year’s junior class by taking the PSAT 10, part of a preparation effort by the College Board.

Students who took the PSAT last year or in the fall of this year are encouraged to take advantage of the College Board’s new partnership for SAT prep with Khan Academy. SATpractice.org offers specifically taliored practice options using PSAT results to target weak areas in time for April’s test date. The partnership offers “7 full practice tests” and “thousands of practice questions, video lessons, and hints.” All practice is offered directly by the company which designs the test, so the prep is specific to the test, up to date, and probably the best tool available for getting ready.

Time is running out, so do not waste it! This test is one of the most important tests you will take in high school, so it is essential to study more than you would for any normal test.

Work hard and good luck Cougars!
