Girls Soccer Has Promising Start

Girls soccer had their first league game on Tuesday 3/14 against Vista Ridge, ending in a disappointing 0-2 loss for the Cougars. The two goals by Vista Ridge were scored within the first 10 minutes of the game, and the Lady Cougars were unable to make a comeback.

The offense pressed throughout the game and had a total of 24 shots, but were unable to find the back of the net. Although it is evident that the Cougars need to work on shooting accuracy, throughout the game Coronado kept possession of the ball and outplayed Vista Ridge.

“We played strong and I’m really proud of everyone for playing their best,” says freshman Lauren Strizich. It is only the beginning of the season, and the Lady Cougars are excited to improve their play and bring home wins for Coronado.

The Cougar’s next home game is against Sand Creek on 3/21 at 6:30 pm. Come show your support and cheer them on!
