Cougar Daily March Madness Bracket Challenge: Best Brackets after Two Rounds

Grace Abernethy, Sports Editor

After two rounds and 48 games of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the Cougar Daily March Madness Bracket Challenge is well under way. The 31 students and staff members who submitted brackets for the contest have suffered from heartbreaking upsets that derailed #2 seeds Duke and Louisville as well as the 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Champion and #1 seed Villanova. Duke’s loss to seven seed South Carolina hit brackets particularly hard: Nearly a quarter of all brackets submitted predicted Duke as the eventual champion of the tournament. After two rounds, the top ten brackets are as follows. One point was awarded for each first round win, and two points for each second round win.

Samantha Dalton 51 points

Lindsey Murray 51 points

Isaac Zaehler 48 points

Maddy Morland 47 points

Judah Voss 47 points

Grace Abernethy 46 points

Dillon Hill 46 points

Ashton Rogers 46 points

Shana Brinkman 45 points

Keelin Reeder 45 points

Mr. Thomas 45 points

Additionally, two brackets without names were turned in, if one was yours then please come to Coach Stoughton’s room to claim it. Good luck Cougars!
