We got Two! Ashley Medina Awarded the Daniel’s Fund Scholarship

Isaac Ross, Staff Writer

Of over 2,000 applicants across the region, Coronado boasted two recipients this year for the prestigious Daniel’s Fund scholarship. The scholarship is a full tuition, need-based scholarship that prides itself on rewarding those who exhibit good character and leadership. Ashley proved superior to the other applicants after an extensive application process including “a ton of essays,” financial need demonstration, and an interview. Through the application process, Ashley demonstrated that from her family’s “military and ethnic background” she has an open mind and a broad world view, which she believes is what set her apart.

With the Daniel’s Fund, Ashley is planning to attend New York University (NYU) in Manhattan (to which she has already been accepted) and study Biology on a Pre-Med track.

She “wants the world to know how grateful I am for this.”

We want her to know how proud of her we are! Be sure to tell Ashley congratulations next time you see her.
