Coronado’s varsity softball team ended last week with a two-day tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Lady Cougars played Mitchell on September 1st and won with a score of 21-3. A game against Doherty was played the following day, but they unfortunately lost with a score of 1-6.  Later that day the Cougars handily defeated Palmer 20-3.

Midweek the Cougars battled the Lancers of Liberty High School on September 5th, but sadly they ended up losing 6-15. It was not all bad though, according to junior Anika Hagen: “It started off good, we had a two point lead, and by, I think it was the 3rd inning, we lost that lead and they kept hitting, so we ended up losing the game, which was sad [but] we tried our best.” It was a busy week for the players, and they played hard.

Make sure you catch the next softball game to help cheer on our team on September 14th at their home game v.s. Fountain-Fort Carson.
