Yo No!

Avery Young, Staff Writer

YoYogurt, a frozen yogurt franchise with locations all across Colorado Springs, has been a favorite for people of all ages since the beginning.  The westside location, at 1798 Uintah St, was independently run but has recently closed in light of unfortunate personal events, the owner’s mother passing away at the same time of the business license expiration date. The YoYogurt Briargate location experienced a similar downfall after several years of business. The remaining YoYogurts are all unreasonably far away, the closest at 4465 Northpark Dr. The others are at 7798, 8816 N Union Blvd and 5885 Stetson Hills Blvd, making for quite the drive in pursuit of flavors such as the classic YoTart and Yellow Cake.

As many who frequent the area know, the location certainly expanded their horizons and did their best to cater to a wide variety of tastes with the introduction of pretzels, pizza, and bread alongside a row of frozen yogurt dispensers and plentiful topping bar.

The recent closures may be signs of the rest following suit, although there is always hope. YoYogurt has a special place in the hearts of many looking for a sweet treat.

While the permanent closure of the location does inconvenience anyone looking to get fro-yo on the West Side, it leaves hope for something new in the Uintah Gardens area and is a good excuse to expand your horizons beyond only West Side businesses.
