The lady Cougars took on the Cheyenne Mountain Indians on Friday. What was suppose to their first home game, they end up playing at Cheyenne mountain. The Indians came out strong, winning the first two to sets with a score of 29-27 and 25-21. However we would bounce back and win the third game to avoid being swept 25-18. Being outplayed in what would be the final set 25-13. Sophomore Ella Moceri was optimistic about the game, even through a loss, “Overall being on a team with these girls have impacted the way I play on the court; I think we all have amazing talents and our team chemistry is great but we just need to learn how to finish a game and keep our lead, our record doesn’t show it but we have improved every single game as a team.” Being a sophomore on varsity I asked her about the future of the team for the next couple of years. “I’m excited to see what happens and see how the volleyball program will grow, and who will step into the seniors place.” The cougars are a young team, with only 4 graduating seniors they have a lot to look forward to into the future. Be sure to come to the first home game, Friday September 21 on our brand new court, 6pm Vs Air Academy.
