Over the weekend, the annual state cross country meet was held at Bear Creek Park, and both teams qualified for state. The boys team, led by Ben Swanson (12), placed 10th and the girls, led by Maddy Morland (12) and Faith Roth (12), took 14th. We caught up with Ben Swanson after his great performance at state and asked him how he felt about the team this season. “We made it to state for the first time in four years, that’s pretty special. Even though it wasn’t everyone’s best performance, we still placed very well and did well.” After this season, they will be losing four of their eight state runners. “We have a very capable team, and very talented coaches, I’m confident the team will do great,” said Swanson.
