Delve Into Readers Guild!
March 3, 2020
Coronado is home to many clubs centered around bringing people together. Seriously, there’s a place for everyone! From Future Business Leaders of America, to Saber Arts, to our very own Readers Guild!
Readers Guild is a club centered around the unifying love of literature, expression and forming new friendships in the community. The club is open to bookworms and not-so-bookworms alike, as long as you’re open to sharing! And unlike some reading clubs or book clubs, you don’t have to read anything you don’t want to!
Co-President of the club Alyah Swartz is more amped than ever to host the meetings!
“It’s been really good since we switched the meeting time, we’ve had a really good turnout! It’s always a lot of fun, it’s nice to get more people to share and be involved in reading. Everyone will share their book, and we will discuss and generally have a good time.”
The schedule change has led the group to more than double in numbers, covering both lunches on Wednesdays. Overall, the meetings have helped the club reach a number of diverse people from every area of Coronado!
“A lot of people who were interested in the club weren’t able to come because they had busses or other activities to go to, so the lunch meetings give people the opportunity to come as a whole. Even our sponsor couldn’t always attend.”
“It doesn’t matter what genre you read, or if you read a book a day or a book a year. You can share any books you’ve read, we just want to give you a space to love reading. If you like books, you’ll have a good time. If it’s not your cup of tea, we won’t be upset. Come check it out for a day, and make a decision from there!”
The club meets during both lunches on Wednesdays in room 219, feel free to drop by and see if you like it!
