On Thursday Sept. 17, the Cougar boys took to the Kadet Invite at the USAFA and got their first win of the season in dominating fashion. Seniors Nic Vai and Michel Swanson finished in 2nd and 3rd places, respectively. They were followed by Andrew Burton, 10, Clay Rahaman, 11, and Conor Strizich, 10, in 6th, 7th and 8th places. The boys’ 26 points was more than enough for the win over the rest of the field, with Douglas County finishing with a distant 58 points.

In the JV race, the Cougars boys ran hard and brought home their second 2nd place trophy in as many weeks.  Gerritt Ralston, 12, lead the team with an  8th place finish and Ben Swanson, 9, only 3 seconds behind in 10th.  The JV squad scored 43 points and only lost to Peyton’s varsity team, who won with a perfect score of 15.

The Cougars next race is their home invitational, the Cougar Classic.  The race takes place at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs on Thursday Sept. 24.
