The very popular Ted Lasso, once said, “For me, success is not about the wins and losses. It’s about helping these young fellas be the best versions of themselves on and off the field.” Coronado’s High School Basketball coaches have been working harder than anyone has seen before this season! The new boys’ basketball Coach, Cody Burnbeck, has shown his skill level to teach these young men is one of the highest we have seen in the past. As the season continues we will surely see our teams improve along the way, especially the coaches who have been happy with the potential they have been seeing in these students.
Coach Burnbeck has shown that pushing these players to their limits has proven that they have more potential than just being on a team and playing a sport. All the men on C-team, JV, and varsity have been working harder and harder each practice, and it has been paying off. The current record may not reflect this completely, but Coach Moore (the C-teams coach) said “at the end of the day these guys work harder than other teams’ coaches have seen before, and couldn’t be prouder of our boys.” With that, I’m sure everyone can completely agree that these guys put in so much work on and off court, between taking weight classes and some players going on their own time to a basketball court to get some extra work in.
The season has been more of a success than many expected it to be. Coach Burnbeck has such a complete understanding of the sport, and he has a genuine love for basketball. With every practice and game, the players contribute in shows Cody Burnbeck the men he coaches have the same passion he does. The love and friendship the players have for each other just makes the team much more compatible and comfortable. Our coaches and teams have a lot to work for and future progress, and we can’t wait to see how they will perform with finishing the season.
