The school year is rolling to an end and that means new student council members at Coronado High School. Students have to complete multiple steps to run for the cabinet where they can compete for multiple positions like President, Vice president, Social Morale, Communications, Senior Rep, etc.
Paul Kaufer, Student Council advisor, said. “Students that wanted to run for a cabinet position were supposed to pick up an application packet the week of March 4th-8th. There were informational meetings during both lunches on the 5th and after school that day. Application packets were due on Monday, March 18th.”
Candidates coordinated with KUGR-TV to make election videos. Kaufer commented, “KUGR-TV made election promotion videos of each person running [on March] 20th.”
Students who have the option to be in the “StuCo” class but do not run for cabinet positions have the option to talk to their counselor about being in class as participants who help the cabinet members.
Elections will be held on April 10th and 11th. Be on the lookout for election posters after spring break.
