Coronado High School’s Class of 2024 is set to graduate on May 21, 2024, at 3 p.m. at the Ed Robson Arena. Before the main ceremony, there’s a mandatory rehearsal scheduled for May 20th at 10:30 a.m. at the same venue to walk the seniors through the plan for the ceremony to make sure that everything runs seamlessly the day of.
The graduation ceremony promises to be a memorable occasion to not only the seniors but also the families, so Coronado’s Administrative Team asks seniors to adhere to a few guidelines. First is the dress code, since this is a professional ceremony, seniors should maintain respect for the event and “avoid wearing frayed pants, muddy tennis shoes, flip-plops, or slippers” that are deemed inappropriate attire for the occasion. Students should also refrain from “corsages, boutonnieres or any other adornments worn on graduation gowns. Students are not allowed to alter or change their cap and gown in any way.”
These rules may seem strict, but they are put into place to ensure that the focus remains on the achievements of the graduating class and to uphold the professionality of the ceremony. This is a day to honor the hard work, dedication, and all the perseverance of the seniors as they embark on their new journey after high school.
The student speeches at the ceremony will be given by Adeline Williams and Addision Elston and the senior voted staff member will be English teacher, Mr. Tyler Philipsen. They will reflect on the past years the senior class has participated in making this occasion even more memorable for everyone involved.
Seniors will arrive at the Ed Robson Arena by bus from the Coronado Parking Lot. They should arrive in the Coronado Parking Lot no later than 12:30 to depart and head to Ed Robson. The doors will open for friends and family at 2 p.m. and parents will not be allowed on the floor of the arena at any time during the ceremony.
This graduation is to celebrate the achievements of Coronado High School’s Class of 2024. Whether you’re a proud parent, a friend, or a member of the faculty, your presence will make this day even more special for the graduating seniors. Let’s make this a day they will remember forever!
