Blood Drive

On Thursday, Jan 14, Coronado will be saving lives by hosting a blood drive for the Penrose Blood Bank from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm in the Auxiliary Gym. Sign up and permission slips are available in the main office and walk-ins are welcome. People ages 18 and older need to make sure they have their driver’s license. Donors age 16 and 17 are accepted with parental consent. If donor has been sick with a cold or flu you must be free of symptoms for at least 7 days before giving blood. Donors cannot have gotten a piercing or tattoo within the last year. Donors who take frequent medications like aspirin, hormone pills, diet pills, birth control pills and high blood pressure are usually accepted.

You will be asked to provide some basic information (name, address, date of birth, etc.) and you will be asked to answer some medical history and confidential questions. Donors must be in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. For more information please call the blood bank at 719-776-5822.
