Goodbye Mrs. George

Goodbye Mrs. George

Tegan Chambon, News Editor

The Coronado community prepares to lose one of its finest, next year Mrs. George will be leaving Coronado to teach art at Doherty. In the eighteen years that Mrs. George has taught here, she spent five years as yearbook advisor, started the Coronado newspaper, started the literary magazine, served as department head for three years, and has taught classes in every grade ranging from remedial reading classes to honors seniors.

When asked what her favorite part about Coronado has been Mrs. George replied, “I have enjoyed being able to watch kids grow up. I was able to do that when I taught yearbook and newspaper and when I have kids as freshman and later as seniors.”

Coronado has been special to Mrs. George for many reasons, this is where she learned to do ceramics and started teaching. The saddest part about leaving Coronado for her will be leaving the staff and students.

“I will really miss the people here.”
