Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about your favorite two-holiday movie.

Created by Tim Burton, The Nightmare Before Christmas follows the misadventures of Jack Skellington, Halloweentown’s beloved pumpkin king, who has become disenchanted with the same annual routine of frightening people in the “real world.” When Jack accidentally came upon Christmastown, full of luminous lights and warm spirits, he gets a new outlook on his Halloween life. He creates a diabolical plan to bring Christmas under his control by kidnapping Santa Claus and taking over the role.

The Nightmare Before Christmas has been given all five star ratings and is great for family and kids seven or older. The film is rated PG and the run time is around 76 minutes. However, there are some of a grotesque features. Characters removing their heads and limbs, Oogie Boogie, the films villain, eats characters and fries them into little “treats.”

Of course, the most asked question for this movies is, “Is this a Halloween or a Christmas movie?” In October of 2015, the confusion was finally cleared up. “It’s a Halloween movie,” said Henry Selick, the director of  The Nightmare Before Christmas explained. The Nightmare has been watched on both special holidays since its making in 1993 and probably will still happen despite what Selick says. Make sure to check out Tim Burton’s magic with a bit of fright soon!
