Coronado Football Tackling the 2017 Season

Roman Sorrels, Staff Writer

It is finally that time of the year, CC Football is now officially back with their first scrimmage, facing off against schools including Widefield, Loveland, and  Palmer Ridge, to start off their season. Thus far, Coronado’s 2017 team is looking to be a success.

Thursday, 8/31, varsity football faced off against Aurora Central in the first game of the season, which became the first victory as well with a 32-14 win.

Starting off this season in perfect Cougar fashion be sure to make it to any upcoming games and see if we can make the second game our second win. We have State potential so let’s be sure to do whatever we can to help our athletes make that possible and bring that championship back home where it belongs.

Be sure to go all out with your best Mad Red and Gold at every game to give our players that extra boost and show your school spirit. If you are looking for a way to support your local team, feel free to ask coach Lobato in room 220 or simply ask one of the dozens of athletes around the school to find out which games are coming up or what fundraisers the team is holding. More importantly though, get out to games and show off some Coronado Cougar Pride.

Be sure to check the Cougar Daily for the most recent updates, times, games, and of course how to show that CC pride. Games will be weekly so make sure to keep up to date. The next game, we will be facing Skyline in Longmont, CO September 7th, and don’t miss out on the Homecoming Game in just a few short weeks.
