Shredding the Ice!

Coronado’s hockey team is about halfway through its season, and is headed up to Woodland Park this Saturday, January 12, for its next game.

Coming off break this past Monday, the team faced a hard-fought loss to Air Academy High School, the final score 8-0. The team has had a difficult season up to this point, with a record of 1-7-1, beating out Liberty High School 5-4 and tying with Chatfield High School, 1-1.

According to the Apex Ice Hockey Standings in the area, Coronado is currently ranked fifth, under Doherty, Woodland Park, Rampart, and Liberty.

The team has not given up any hope, though, and are still determined, as senior hockey player and unofficial captain Trevor Gordon states, “The one thing we have that drives us is our work ethic. We may not win every game, but we work harder than anyone else”.

Coronado’s hockey team continues to work hard on and off the ice, hungry for victories as they continue their season. This is many of their players’ last season here at Coronado, so let’s continue to support and encourage our Coronado hockey team as they fight hard to have a great second half of the season!
