With Prom, Senior Skip Day, SATs, and PSATs all within the same span of the school year, students are probably feeling exhausted and could use a break. Luckily, this week will be much more calm than the past couple of weeks have been. Now that students are getting back into the swing of things, there are some important events next week that students should be aware of.

Before this article gets too far into the announcements of the upcoming week, there is one reminder that applies to all students that needs to be addressed: The new bell schedule has been in effect since April 8th because of the time that schools lost due to weather issues. Classes begin at 7:38 a.m., which is two minutes earlier than it has been the rest of the year. On Wednesdays, Classes will begin at 8:20 a.m. Here is the full schedule:

On Monday, There will be a German college class in room 114 beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Choir Adjudication Concert will be occurring as well at 7:00 p.m. here at CHS. The girl’s Golf Cougar Classic will begin at 10:00 am. Who they are competing against has still not been determined, but this event will be held at the Kissing Camels Golf Course. There is also a JV Baseball game against Pine Creek at Coronado at 4:00 p.m.

 

On Tuesday, there will be an Academic Council Meeting in room 255 beginning at 7:30 a.m. Girls JV and varsity tennis teams will be having matches at Fountain Fort Carson at 3:45 p.m. There will be Varsity and C-Team baseball games against Pine Creek occurring also. The C-Team Game will be held at Pine Creek High School beginning at 4:30 p.m. The Varsity Game will be held here at Coronado and will start at the same time as the C-Team’s game. The JV and varsity Soccer teams play Palmer. The JV Team plays on the Garry Berry South Field at 3:30 p.m. and varsity plays at Garry Berry Stadium at 5:00 p.m. There is a boy’s varsity Swim Dual against Rampart High School as well at 4:00 p.m. at Rampart High School.

 

On Wednesday, Coffee with a Cop takes place in the auditorium lobby beginning at 7:30 a.m. Student Cabinet Elections are today, and it is important to remind students that every vote counts. There is a Film Club Meeting after school in the Choir room. This meeting begins at 3:00 p.m. The National Letter of Intent Signing for athletes will be held in the auditorium immediately after school. There is also a CU Platinum Public Speaking Class in room 255 from 4:30- 7:15 p.m. There is a girl’s JV Golf Match at the Kissing Camels Golf Course. It is a nine-hole match against Pine Creek High School beginning at 3:30 p.m. The Track and Field JV Invitational against Elizabeth High School at Elizabeth High School at 3:30 p.m. There will also be a JV Baseball game against Pine Creek at  Pine Creek High School at 4:30 p.m.

 

On Thursday, Show Choir has a competition! The varsity and JV girl’s tennis teams will be playing Rampart; the varsity match will take place at Rampart High School at 3:45 p.m. and the JV team’s match will begin at 4:00 p.m. The C and varsity baseball teams both play Pine Creek at 4;00 p.m. The C team game is at Coronado and the varsity game is at Pine Creek. Girl’s varsity golf will be attending the Lancer Invite against Liberty High School. It will be held at the Pine Creek Golf Course and begin at 9:00 a.m. The varsity Track Invitational will be held at La Junta High School beginning at 2:00 p.m. There is a JV girl’s soccer game at Holmes Middle School at 4:30 p.m. against Thomas Mclaren.

 

On Friday, ?The Bluenotes? have a competition! There will also be a GSTA Movie Night in the auditorium at 3:00 p.m. There will be a climbing club meeting at the Springs Climbing Center. For information on when this climbing club meeting occurs, contact Mr. Felix via his D11 email.There is a JV Baseball game starting at 4:00 p.m. against Liberty at Liberty High School. There is also a girl’s varsity tennis Indian Invitational at Cheyenne Mountain High School at 9:00 a.m.

 

Saturday is Passover! There will be a boys varsity Swim Tournament at 9:00 a.m. at Discovery Canyon High School. There are girl’s varsity and JV soccer games against Woodland Park also. The varsity game begins at noon and the JV game begins at 2:00 p.m. at Garry Berry South Field. There will be another girl’s varsity tennis Indian Invitational at 9:00 a.m. at Cheyenne Mountain High School. There will be varsity and C-Team baseball games against Liberty at 10:00 a.m. The C-Team game is a home game and the varsity game is at Liberty High School.

 

On Sunday, all students need to know about this day is that they should have a Happy Easter!
