The Cougar girls were at it again at the Kadet Invite on Thursday Sept. 17.  Elana Muzzy, 10, continued to lead a young team of talent with her 3rd place finish in 20:32.  Faith Roth, 9, had a hard charge this week to take 4th place with Chloe Cassens, 10, hot on her heels in 5th.  The trio of Maddy Morland, 9, Taylor Dutton, 10, and Lindsey Murray, 10, packed up to take 8th, 9th and 10th places.  The girls scored 29 points and edged out host Air Academy’s 33 points for the win.

In the JV race, the girls dropped at heartbreaker to CSCS by only one point.  The race only scored four runners instead of the traditional five, otherwise the Cougars would have pulled out the win handily by an 18 point margin.  CSCS ran their varsity squad and the JV Cougars brought the heat with Isabella Janney, 9, leading the pack in 4th place.

The Cougars next race is their home invitational, the Cougar Classic.  The race takes place at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs on Thursday Sept. 24.
