Peyton Rice, Class of 2024, caught lacking in the Coronado parking lot.

Senior Assassination, commonly referred to as Senior Assassin, is a common tag game at high schools between seniors in teams of two starting at the end of the second semester. The game lasts anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

Every team is assigned a target, another team that they must “tag” by squirting them with a water gun. The only way to stay safe from attack is by wearing swim goggles or pool floaties on both arms, traditional water repellants.

Johnny Geschke, Class of 2024, explained the intensity of the game: “It’s very stressful being able to know who’s after you but fun because everyone is being active and out and about.” Students will go to great lengths to get their target eliminated from the game and there is a large cash prize for the game winner, suspected to be over $1,000.

Alliances form between teams, and the game is a way to create lasting memories with the graduating senior class. All seniors need to be constantly on high alert; you never know when someone will show up to get their “kill” and put them higher on the leaderboard.
