First Day of State Golf Tournament in the Books

October 5 has passed, meaning that the results for the first day of competition at the Colorado 5A State Golf Tournament in Ft. Collins are in. Lakewood High School and Regis Jesuit are tied for 1st in the team rankings, each at 6 to par. At the halfway point, Coronado rests at 4th place, earning a 10 to par score. Fossil Ridge High School is nudged in between the two first place teams and Coronado, with an 8 to par.

Hunter Paugh of Ft. Collins High School leads the individual scoreboard with a 67 on the 71 par course, giving him a -4 score. Two Coronado players, along with 9 players from other high schools, are tied in 9th place. These two, Isaac Petersilie, 12, and Wes Moran, 12, both have a score of +3. The third Coronado golfer, Austin Burgess, 12, scored a +4. He is tied at 20th place with 4 others.

Good luck to the Coronado golfers as they compete today in their final push for 1st. Let’s bring another championship back to Coronado!
