Boys Varsity Basketball – Rampart Edges Coronado by Nine

Sam Strait, Staff Writer

Coronado’s Varsity Boys Basketball team has had a difficult season so far, and their most recent game against Rampart has not helped to improve their record. In the first period of the contest, the Cougars only scored 7 points, but held Rampart to 10. Then in the second, Coronado caught up to the Rams, scoring 9 and holding them to 6. In the third quarter, Coronado scored 12 to Rampart’s 11, gaining the upper hand. However, the Cougars were not able to keep up this positive momentum through the end of the game, losing the final period 24-14.

Coronado’s high scorer was Jaydon Lewis, 11. He scored 17 points. Rampart’s high scorer was Brendan LaRose, 10. He brought in 18 points.

Hopefully Coronado can begin to improve their season with a win in their next game vs. the Fountain-Ft. Carson Trojans on Thursday, Jan. 7th.
