Coronado Track Competes at the La Junta Tiger Invitational

The Coronado Varsity track teams recently participated in the La Junta Tiger Invitational Track Meet. Both varsity teams did very well, with both teams taking first place in the meet.
The boys’ varsity performed exceptionally well, winning many events. Marquis Arrington, 12, took third place in the 100 meter dash, as well as second place in the 200 meter dash. Gerrit Ralston, 12, took third place for the 1600 meter run. Raiden Mares, 11, took third place in the 300 meter hurdles. Nicholas Vai, 12, came in third place in the 3200 meter run. Michael Swanson, 12, came in second in the 800 meter run. Charles Broomfield, 10, took second place in the discus throw.
Girls’ varsity won many events as well, taking first place for the meet. Emily Ambuul, 12, won the 100 meter dash, as well as taking third place in the 200 meter dash. Madeline Morland, 9, won second place in the 1600 meter run. Isabella Janney, 9, won the 300 meter hurdles, and Madison Brown, 12, won the 800 meter run. Celia Smith, 11, won first place in the long Jump, triple jump, and came in second for the triple jump. Jaelyn Hershberger, 10, came in second place in the triple jump.
