Last Saturday, September 17 at the Dutch Clark stadium, Coronado’s varsity soccer team won against Pueblo East by a score of 1-0.

In the first half of the game, an ecstatic Joey Callen scored a penalty kick that would win them the game. When asked if scoring the winning goal for the team was at all difficult, Joey coolly responded , “Nope. It was easy. We worked hard all the way from start to finish. It was awesome. Soccer is awesome. Awesome.” Joey truly is infatuated with the word awesome.

The team’s record so far in the season is three wins to four losses, and the team plans to continually work to better that score.

Coronado’s next game, their homecoming game, will be Tuesday at 4:00pm against Widefield High School. Students are encouraged to support the team and express their school spirit for the soccer team, as it is homecoming week. So wear your school colors and make sure to congratulate Coach Dosch and his players on their previous wins!
