“Flash: Out of Time” is the sixth installment of the New 52 Flash series. (New 52 was the reboot of the entire DC Universe that was caused by the Crisis on Infinite Earths comic.) Written by Robert Venditti, Van Jensen, Brett Booth, and Norm Rapmund follows The Flash (Barry Allen) as he hunts for a murderer.

“…in the present, Barry Allen must contend with a murderer trying to capitalize on the devastation caused by the Crime Syndicate. A murderer who has stolen weapons from various enemies of the Flash to keep his secret safe, at any cost.”

However, along with this, Barry Allen must also handle a new problem: himself.

“In the future, the Flash is a broken man. His powers have failed him time and time again at great cost to the city he has sworn to protect. Now he’s coming back to the current era to stop the one event that destroyed his life. Along the way he will battle his deadliest enemies one by one until he reaches the one person who destroyed his future… Barry Allen!”

Along with the suspenseful plot, a new character is introduced into the New 52: Wally West. Also known as the Kid Flash, Wally West is the nephew of Iris West, a Central City crime reporter.

Overall, “Flash: Out of Time” is a very entertaining comic. Look out for it at your nearest Barnes & Noble next time you’re there!
