After a myriad of outstanding efforts on the first day of the Colorado State Wrestling Championships, Coronado has sent five wrestlers to the quarterfinals. Stevie Dabelko, 12, KJ Kearns, 10, Angel Flores, 9, Nick Cote, 12, and Air Force Academy-committed Jimmy Weaver, 12, will keep wrestling throughout this weekend for a coveted spot in the finals of their respective weight classes. The two other Cougars competing at state, seniors Brady Chauvin and Anthony Arellano-Gandy both had exceptional efforts in their first round matches, but were eventually defeated by tough competition.
The Cougars will continue their exceptional season today, 2/17 in the quarterfinals and, if they continue to win, tomorrow, 2/18, at the Pepsi Center. Go Cougars!
