After a disappointing mercy rule loss on Tuesday 3/21, the Lady Cougars brought home their first win of the season on Thursday against Widefield, winning 8-0.

Leading the team in scoring were Lauren Strizich, 9, Isabella Janney, 10, and Amelia Herman, 9,  each with 2 goals and a combined 3 assists. The remaining goals were scored by Sarah Ford, 9, and Alexa Touchard, 9. Keeper Julie Callan, 10, had a total of 7 impressive saves. Defensively, the Cougars worked together very well and were able to shut out Widefield.

Lauren Strizich says “It was really fun and I enjoyed playing with everyone and celebrating the many goals scored by nearly every member of the team!”

This exciting win will hopefully spur the young team to a winning streak. Their next rival home game against Palmer is on 4/13 at 6:30 pm! Come cheer them on!
