Last week, the Coronado boys swim team competed in the 4A Metro League Championships. The boys bested Palmer, Fountain Fort Carson, Liberty, and Rampart with an impressive score of 376, but sadly were not able to defeat Pine Creek, who racked up 404 points. Despite losing the meet to the Eagles, the Cougars had other successes, including a first place finish in the 200 medley relay thanks to Daniel Saks,12, Marley Kaiser, 12, Kieran Lynch,12, and Andrew Aire, 10.

The team also had two more state qualifiers: Hunter Tenpas, 9, in the 100 back, and Jackson Sawyer, 10, in the 200 individual medley. “I’m so thrilled to have this opportunity, more so because I accidentally qualified in the 200 IM” said Sawyer, who dropped 9 seconds to qualify for the IM and is also qualified in the 100 breaststroke. “Everyday the team is getting more amped for state which is dope” he added of the team’s pre state environment.

Come out and watch our boys compete alongside Colorado’s best swimmers this Friday and Saturday at the Air Force pool!
