December Holidays

December Holidays

Kathleen Hagar

It’s December! And while that means first semester finals, it also means Christmas is just around the corner. Though it may seem like it, Christmas isn’t the only December holiday. Here are a few other December holidays/important events to celebrate if the smell of gingerbread and pine scented candles is starting to get to your head, or of course, just for fun.

Frank Sinatra’s Birthday, December 12th

While it’s not an official holiday, Frank Sinatra’s birthday deserves to be celebrated. So take a study break, plug in those headphones, and listen to some Sinatra classics!

First Miniature Golf Course Opened, December 14th

That’s right, mini golf has a birthday! Grab some friends, a slice of cake, and head on down to your nearest mini golf place!

Bake Cookies Day, December 18th

Just like the name suggest, Dec. 18th is a great day to get together with some friends and just bake your hearts out. The best part of the day, though, is when you get to taste your delicious creations!

Go Caroling Day, December 20th

Whether you can sing or not, caroling is a fun and different way to bond with your friends and family.

National Eggnog Day, December 24th

With Steak ‘n Shake’s seasonal drinks out, what better a day to check out their egg nog shake than on National Eggnog Day?

National Chocolate Day, December 28th

Need I say more?

Bacon Day, December 30th

While the origins of how Bacon Day came to be are conflicting, that doesn’t mean it’s any less real. Push aside your New Year’s weight loss resolution and enjoy one more day to enjoy a nice BLT sandwich.
