Have you seen Lauren Gryboski tearing it up on the beam? Adabelle Wright killing it in the classroom? Paige Richter shocking the school? Even though these talented gymnasts only attend Coronado for five periods a day, Gryboski, Wright, and Richter have made their presence known in their sport and in school.

The sophomore gymnasts of Coronado are successful on the floor, beam, bars, and vault and in the classroom. Wright, Gryboski, and Richter attend school for only part of the day before heading over to Aerials Gymnastics, where they train. Even with dedicating twenty eight hours every week to the sport, all three gymnasts take rigorous honors and AP classes. However, their success in school does not come without diligence: The Cougars keep up with school by doing homework in the car and taking classes online. Their hard work and intelligence is reflected in their grade point averages: all three gymnasts have GPA’s over 4.5.

However, the hard work is worth it for the gymnasts, and universal for the trio is the satisfaction and joy they receive from the sport. Gryboski reflects, “I do gymnastics because I have been doing it all my life and I love the feeling of accomplishment I get when I nail a hard skill!”

Coronado’s talented gymnasts have many accolades under their belts, most notably their rise to compete in Level Ten, only second in difficulty to the Elite Level, which provides the national team and Olympic gymnastics for the U.S. Lauren, Adabelle, and Paige have big dreams for their gymnastic futures: All three would like to attend and compete at college after high school, Adabelle and Paige also hope to qualify for Level 10 Nationals in 2018.

The gymnasts already have many accomplishments under their belts. At this year’s Level 10 State, Gryboski claimed 8th in the Junior A category and Richter rounded up a 7th place finish in the Junior B category. Wright cinched 14th in Junior B.

The superb gymnasts of Coronado have bright futures ahead of them, and they will surely be successful in whatever they pursue.
