Coronado football traveled to D20 stadium to fight against a tougher opponent, and they allowed Rampart to do whatever they wanted at home. The Cougar run game yet again struggled, giving up 347 yards rushing to 7 different ball carriers. Then on the other side, the Cougars could only come up with 31 rushing yards of their own. Coronado, who is very reliant on the run, was only able to put up 7 points due to their lack of a run attack. On the other hand, Rampart who was able to rush for 347 yards, scored 42 points. Due to the lack of a run game against Rampart, the Cougars were forced to throw the ball more than usual, throwing the ball 26 times and only completing 12 of those throws. Throwing the ball 26 times allowed the Rams defense to rack up sacks, totaling 5 sacks. The Cougars’ lack of a run attack, pass attack, and defensive effort was a disaster and it showed on the scoreboard. But the young Cougars can use this game to reflect back on and improve, and that is what they did.

The Cougars quickly forgot about what happened the game prior and beat Liberty at home for Senior Night. Coronado, unlike the game prior, was able to run up the score late to finish with a 35-10 win. Liberty kept the game close up until the fourth quarter where the Cougars proved they were the superior team. Even though the game entered the fourth quarter with a score of 10-7 in favor of Liberty, Coronado dug in deep and controlled the fourth quarter. With the Cougars currently sitting at a record of 3-6, Coronado heads into the last game of the season hopeful to finish at a 4-6 record. Finishing at 4-6 is a success for the team comparing it to last year where the Cougars finished with two wins on the season. The season has been full of success from starting the season with a win against Cheyenne Mountain, to dominating Palmer, and winning our senior night, there are many good things that happened this season. Now the seniors hope to ride off into the sunset with a win against Widefield Friday night November, 2 at Widefield. Come support your Cougars one final time.
