Due to flooding on Doherty’s floor, and other reasons, the Cougars went to Wasson last night to play the Spartans, who were 6-9 going into the game. Your Cougars were 6-11 following a loss to Palmer. This game was played honoring Schafer Reichart, who is getting better after contracting the flu about a week ago, which spread into a full body infection. Don’t get me wrong, the Cougars still wanted to head into Wasson and get a win against their league rival, Doherty.

Both offenses started quick, but Coronado found themselves down 18-14 at the end of the first quarter. Doherty’s defense then started to shut down the Cougar’s offense, only allowing seven points in the quarter. The  Spartans scored 15 points, and they were up at halftime 33-21 over the Cougars.

In the second half, the Spartan’s offense caught on fire, scoring 24 points in the third quarter. The Cougars only scored ten points in the third. The Cougars outscored Doherty 16-15 in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough as Doherty took a monster win over the Cougars.

William White lead the team in scoring with 14 points, and Ladarius Mays chipped in 11. Both Bryce Mckee and Brycen Scherr had 6 rebounds, and Bryce Mckee lead the team in assists with 6.

The Cougars next game will be against Air Academy in our gym on Saturday, February 2. Let’s go out and make the gym rock next game.
