The Cougars went into the city of Fountain this past Friday to take on the playoff hopeful Fountain Fort-Carson. The Cougars came into this game on a four game losing streak, looking for a way to put one in the win column. The Trojans, however, were 14-6 and looking to punch their ticket into the playoffs. It was looking like a fun game between a playoff caliber team and a scrappy young team, as the Cougars and Trojans were ready to battle it out.

The Trojans went on a run to start the game, scoring 16 points and allowing 8, shutting the Cougars down. The Cougars offense bounced back in the second, scoring 19 points. But the offense for FFC continued to get stronger, as they posted an astounding 32 points in the quarter. The score at half was 48-27, the Trojans up big on the Cougars. Both teams came out hustling in a tough third quarter, each team putting up 24 in the quarter. The Trojans then outscored our Cougars in the fourth, 24-21, to give them the win. The final was 96-72, the Trojans over the Cougars.

Leading scorers for the Cougars were Bryce McKee with 18 and Ladarius Mays chipped in 14. Other notable contributions were Brycen Scherr and Zac Pasquarello with 13. Brycen Scherr lead the team, once again, in rebounds, grabbing 5 boards. In terms of assists, Bryce McKee lead the team with 8.

The Cougars played well in this one, but could not stop the Fountain offensive attack. The Cougars are going into the last week of the season, in which they have a game on Tuesday against Rampart and a game Friday against Pine Creek. The Cougars are looking to end the season on a little win streak, as they beat both teams the first time around. Go out and support your Cougars in these last two games of the basketball season!
