On Friday, October 4th, our Coronado Cougars football team battled Grand Junction Central at Garry Berry Stadium. The team fought hard and played well, but sadly lost with a score of 42 to 20.

Eli Border, 11, felt the team “moved the ball [quickly]” and he is excited for the rest of the season, which will start league, “since [the] team knows how to work together, [it will] do better against harder teams.”

Angel Flores, 12, also thought the team was successful in “playing together as a team” and is looking forward to the rest of the season with his teammates!

The next home football game is Thursday the 24th, against Rampart at Garry Berry at 6 P.M. Make sure to be there to support your team as it “makes [the players’] spirits go up” and “gets them more hyped when [there is] a bigger student section.”
