On Friday Oct 2 the improv comedy performance group “Stick Horses in Pants” put on a hilarious show at Lon Chaney Theater in Downtown Colorado Springs. Since 2004 this group of improvisation enthusiasts have been entertaining people of all ages in Colorado Springs with audience participation, witty puns and creative use of everyday situations. They also offer private shows, corporate parties, conferences, weddings, special events and improv training for those who share a passion for this method of acting.

The audience participated by giving the actors their situation or asking them questions and the performers wisely used the situation to create witty jokes, giving the crowd a great performance. They also played games with the audience like the freeze game where two actors would play a situation and someone would yell freeze and one of the other actors would take their place in the middle of whatever was going on at that moment.

Because it’s Science Festival Month in Colorado Springs, Stick Horses in Pants cracked some jokes and introduced “Dr. Know-it-all”, who is a character made up of two of the actors. Dr. Know-it-all attempted to answer questions from the audience by one actor saying a single word and then the other actor followed it with one other word. This act proved to be very difficult and the performers were obviously very talented because the audience couldn’t seem to get enough.

Make sure to catch their next show at The Lon Chaney Theater on Friday Oct. 16. Doors open at 7:30 and tickets are $10.00 at the door. Fans can also purchase a Stick Horses shirt and merchandise or check out their website at http://www.thestickhorses.com/ for the schedule of upcoming shows in Colorado Springs.
